1. Professional Apologiser
There is a service in Japan that can offer a professional apologiser. If you can’t face apologising yourself, well look no further, you can now hire someone to do it for you. These apologisers are professionally trained so they are sure to get you out of a sticky situation or two.
2. Professional Snuggler
If you’re feeling lonely and need that little bit of intimacy then your wishes have been granted. In Japan there are heavy petting snuggle cafes that let you cuddle or sleep beside a women for up to £60 an hour. The trend has now made its way to the US. There is a place in New York called “The Snuggery” and for $50 you can indulge in a private 45 minute snug session.
3. Snake Milker
OH YES…. You heard it right.
There is actually a job called snake milking. This is where you extract venom from some of the world’s most dangerous snakes, including Rattlesnakes and Cobras. The venom is then used to create anti-venom for hospitals. This job is very dangerous therefore only trained professionals are equipped to do it.
4. Professional Mourners
Professional Mourners attend funerals of the deceased and cry for those who have passed. An English company called Rent -a- Mourner specializes in the industry at a price of £70 for two hours of mourning. Surprisingly this is more popular than you would think. It is also a tradition that goes back hundreds of years.
5. Professional Line- Standers
This is a new phenomenon that can make a ton of money. This all began after the necessity to stand in queues for long periods of time. A professional line stander is a person who will stand in line for another person. So if you want the latest product on the market but don’t feel like waiting in the queues well then now you don’t have too.
6. Fortune Cookie Writers
Have you ever stopped to think that somebody has to write the fortunes that you find in fortune cookies. It’s a real job and there are some very talented writers hired to do it.
7. Worm Picker
As gross as this may sound this is actually real. Worm pickers go out usually at night or when it’s raining to pick worms. These worms are then sold on to fishermen for when they go fishing.
8. Train Stuffers
If you think your commute in the morning is bad, have a look at what it’s like in Japan. Trains are that busy that there train stuffers, also known as “Oshiya”. The Japanese government employs people to stuff passengers into the trains and subway to ensure that all available space is being used.
9. Odour Judge
This role includes sniffing people armpits. I know, GROSS!! But they don’t do it for any old reason. It is done to ensure that the deodorant will work when it hits the market.
10. Scuba Diving Pizza Deliverer
Oh yes! This is a real job and it is exactly what it says in the title. And if that isn’t crazy enough, there is actually an underwater hotel in California. Simply ask the front desk to order a pizza and voilà pizza in minutes… although don’t blame me if it turns up wet.
